TimeTest (prints math drills/worksheets for kids),
RDM (Stereogram "Magic Eye" maker), and a few of my other
programs please send $20 dollars with your name and
address and you will be sent a CD. Please include a note
as to what the money is for.

2. Storyline.

The storyline? Well.... In a field far far away, in a time
still to come, old farmer Joe was developing a super
strength formula for his farm animals. When it came time
to feed them his newly finished formula, his farm hand made
the mistake of mixing in too much vitamin c. During the
night all the animals mutated into hungry beasts. Now it
is up to farmer Joe and his farm hand to stop
those animals before they conquer the world!

3. How to use your own pictures and sounds for the game.

First: Go to the directory of DGDB.

Second: Copy the 'Objects' folder into a folder called
           something like 'Objects Backup'.

Third: Replace or edit the 32x32 bitmaps with your own. Just
make sure the names do not change.

Fourth: Follow the same procedure for the sounds and music.

Fifth: Run the game and have fun! :)

4. About the original DGDB from the Atari ST.

DGDB (Das grosse deutsche Ballerspiel) means roughly "The
Great German Videogame". It is a Shoot'em up game from
the old Atari ST computer. It was released in 1986 as public
domain by two germans named Michael Rieck and Thomas Ehlers.
They released DGDB together with 24 seperate Maps (0-23).
In each map there is an "A" for Start (german word: Anfang)
and a "Z" for Exit (german word: Ziel). You have to reach
the "Z" in order to 'warp' to a new level. There are many
clever enemies alive for the purpose of killing you.
They are produced by "mother" enemies that need to be
destroyed. Most parts of the game are "impossible" to beat
in single player mode. The original game may still be
obtained for Atari ST emulators like WinSTon. If you
would like the emulator and the DGDB Rom file, let
   me know: anthony@aswsoftware.com

5. How to determine the correct game speed.

In the options menu the game speed can be adjusted. The
speed varies between Windows XP and 98 (runs faster
in 98) and, of course, depends on the speed of your
CPU. The higher the number, the higher the delay.
The game was programmed on a 3200MHZ CPU but has been tested
and works great on a 350 MHZ CPU (game delay set to about 12).

How to determine the correct speed:

There should be about 60 game movements in 30 seconds. Start
the game and set the delay in the options menu to 17. Then go
to level 0 (zero) and wait for the lazer wands to begin
cycling. Now, for 30 seconds, count the number of changes the
lazers make (or how many times the green frogs move). If you
count more than about 60 changes, up the delay and try
again. If you get less than about 60, lower the delay time.

6. Miscellaneous.

-You can take a screen shot by pressing the 'Print screen'
button next to your F12 button on the keyboard. The
picture will be saved sequentualy as a bitmap in
   the game directory.

-There are intentional bugs in the game that were in
the original DGDB. If you can discover some of these bugs,
many interesting things can be done in the game (like
finding hidden rooms). Contact me if you can't seem to
figure out some of these "easter eggs".

-Created a really good object or sound scheme? Let us
know and we will post it on the website.
